M-BRANE SF: Issue #2, March 2009… (Now Available!)

The second issue of M-BRANE SF has just hit the Internet with a March edition to die for.  It’s a fast-growing venue with a positive future ahead of it.  Some decent writers have already submitted to it, like Rick Novy and Cat Rambo.  I have a story in Issue #2, and not only is the magazine well-formatted and very affordable for this economy, but I believe it is available in a few formats.  I recommend trying it out.  The PDF is only $12.00 for a whole year! For twelve issues, how can you beat that price? Christopher Fletcher gives his personal summations, too, on who’s who and what’s what involving the genre.  Not just Hard Science Fiction.  Love the retro 60’s feel!

I’m pleased to announce that the October 2008 Issue of THE WILLOWS MAGAZINE is now available.  A very delightful Halloween print edition indeed, filled with a plethora of steampunk and Neo/Post-Victorian period works of horror and other macabre tales.  Published bimonthly, this is my fourth run as Feature Author with the magazine, and the fiction just gets hotter with each new issue. They’ve been mentioned in The New York Times and the San Francisco Chronicle, so why not join the steampunk movement and read… “The Willows”…!

NOVA Science Fiction, Issue #22… (4th appearance)

The latest issue of NOVA Scifi, No. 22, is finally available.  NOVA is easily one of the better Hard SF-meets-religious-SF based magazines available in the American small press today.  This would be my 4th appearance with them.  The cover art is dedicated to Jon Cooper’s, “Pharoah”.

Pablo Lennis #250, September 2008… (appearances)

I’ve missed the last few months worth of fanzine entries, so I’ll start again fresh here. I have a story in the special — and rather thick, might I add — 250th Anniversary Issue of Scifi’s longest running fanzine.  PABLO LENNIS, Issue #250… 22 Years in print.  And over that 22 year period, tons of great authors and poets, prolific and new, have come and gone.  To be honest, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s one of the last snail mails of its kind left.  It’s where my fiction first saw print back in the mid-90’s, and it’s edited by John Thiel of Indiana.  John, God Bless, and here’s to the next 250 issues…

The new format looks great.  It’s been expanded upon, and has been taken over by Lilley Press.  The name and theme of my story, “The Hell Walker”, was originally based off this concept I had for a comic book character.  A priest.  One who is self-righteous and has the ability to travel through Gehenna, and do charitable deeds for demons and other creatures.

And in the last two days, since my arrival home from the hospital, probably one of the best “Get Well” presents I’ve ever received… Yeah, we all collected them at one point or another.

One Year Blog-a-versary

 

With that said, I’ve been blogging and promoting magazines for exactly one year today, June 6th; also, famously known as D-Day. Hmm, amazing how time flies…  

Sein Und Werden, Summer 2008… (2nd acceptance)

Today’s acceptance is to Rachel Kendall’s very popular existentialist and surreal literature publication, Sein Und Werden.  Available in the UK.  They not only feature experimental prose, but artwork and poetry in their print version(s), too.  Each issue has featured renowned names in the British short story arena, and has its own unique theme.  Next issue’s theme is a “mathematical-meets-speculative” one, if I’m not mistaken (or ologies). The current issue is themed: Clandestine Encounters.

This would be my 2nd upcoming appearance…

Jupiter SF, October 2008… (5th acceptance)

My latest acceptance for the month of April 2008 is actually my 5th over the last two-three years to editor Ian Redman’s ‘JUPITER SF’.  It’s one of the UK-Small Press’s most widely read hard science fiction publications, and probably just behind Interzone.  Published quarterly, they are now in their fifth year of existence.  In today’s marketplace not too many small magazines last that long but, due to its popularity, JUPITER has defied those odds.

Been a long month, but my latest acceptance/appearance is number… Oh, just kidding, no need to count anymore.  But seriously, my latest comes to one of the longest running zines of science fiction and fantasy.  PABLO LENNIS.  Issue No. #245; I’m actually anticipating their 250th anniversary issue in five months from now.  Not many publications other than perhaps a few pros last 250 issues.  They’re edited monthly by John Thiel, and put out by VacHume Press, Oort Cloud Publications…
