Wicked Shadow Press: “Flash of the Dead SPACE!” – Space Anthologies!

I’m back in the popular selling Flash of the Dead series from Wicked Shadow Press. This time in a themed anthology of horror and dark science fiction set in outer space. Pieces less than 2000 words in length. And this time with a reprint from a few years back. While my story is set in a low gravity atmosphere, I would call this next one “humorous space horror.” Ask yourself this question. Alien Dimensions #27: 100,000 Years of Intergalactic Peace – The Final Edition

I’m pleased to announce that I have a novelette in the final edition of the long-running anthology-magazine from Neil Hogan at Space Fiction Books, Alien Dimensions No. #27. This would be my fourth acceptance to the publication over the years, and this one is for the scifi fanatics out there. But this issue of Alien Dimensions has a theme to it: 100,000 Years of Intergalactic Peace. So the tales have to have some element of promoting or ensuring peace for a civilization. My story is about a solar engineer who attempts to save his own people and another race from across the stars. With permission, of course, from his council. There is world building and conflict. There is hard science and a great plot. What started out as a short story draft back in the 2000s with no direction, ended up close to 8500 words in length in 2025. I’m sharing a TOC with some familiar names, such as David Castlewitz and Mord McGhee (I must know Mord at least 20 years). I’ll leave pics and Amazon info below. NEW SCIFI ANTHOLOGY: “Cosmic Contact” – Culture Cult Press

For late January-Early February 2023 I have yet another science fiction tale, this time a brand new short about alien parenting, entitled: Forgotten Species. It comes to you within the very well laid out, well designed pages of COSMIC CONTACT. This is a science fiction & fantasy anthology on the subject of aliens making “first contact” with humans and other species. It is a rather big beefy book put out by the folks at Pulp Cult/Culture Cult Press. They’re the same people who did the exorcism anthology I CAST YOU OUT and the haunted house anthology HAUS in 2022.

Cosmic Contact has some interesting interior design, fonts, layouts, and even features a lot of familiar short story authors from out of the 2000s era, names such as Ken Goldman, Elana Gomel, Matt Shaw, Thomas Stewart, and DJ Camden. Science Fiction Anthologies: “Shoot for the Moon” – Red Penguin Books

I am pleased to announce that I’ll have an astronaut story coming to one of Red Penguin Books’ upcoming anthologies, entitled: “Shoot for the Moon – A Space Adventure Anthology.” And that’s pretty much the theme, these are tales from many different authors writing spacefaring adventures where an astronaut or cosmonaut or space force is traveling through the cosmos toward some kind of interplanetary satellite or lunar surface. The book is part of a whole series called: The Red Penguin Collection. Interestingly enough, Red Penguin is from my hometown (New York City), and they are heavy in the marketing department. Nova Science Fiction, Spring 2010… (Eight Acceptances!)

Aoife’s Kiss #31, December 2009… (Now Available!)

It’s my 11th story appearance within the folds of Sam’s Dot Publishing’s magazine, Aoife’s Kiss.  This would be the December 2009 issue, a pretty funky cover.  This issue also features Ken Goldman.  No. 31.  Interesting fact about the magazine: the title comes from Irish.  After all these years, I didn’t even know that.  However, if you love science fiction and adventure stories, you definitely can’t go wrong with a copy.

M-BRANE SF: Issue #9, Fall 2009… (coming soon!)

Slowly catching up, slowly getting there.  My second of three Mars-related stories will appear in M-BRANE SF around the Fall.  Issue #9.  This is my 2nd appearance with them.  They’ve recently released print versions of issues #1 through #5, and No. #6 may already be out.  They are also available via PDF subscription (very affordable!), which I highly recommend checking out.  The publication features many forms of scifi, non-fiction, and analyses of the genre itself.   It has a retro-60’s feel.  Sort of like the pulps.  They’ve featured many familiar names in the SF short fiction arena. 

M-Brane SF

M-BRANE SF is not only a PDF and print publication but a regular science fiction news source, too.  One of the ideas they’re juggling around right now is a ‘Shared World’ theme, which might be of interest to genre lovers.

Nova Science Fiction, Fall 2009 and Spring 2010…

Do you like science fiction related to the planet Jupiter and its four moons? Good. Nova Scifi will be publishing me for a Fifth and Sixth  time in their print venue between this year and next.  They’ve been around for a number of years and are very popular in smaller press/religious Scifi circles.  NOVA SF is edited by Wesley Kawato.  They DO NOT accept email subs, but they will look at snail mail.  If you want to break into this market, it is recommended you have some kind of background in science or follow the guidelines to a tee.  If you get the cover and headline story, you get more.  They love religious SF, Hard SF, and themes related to Time Travel.  Religious there, too.

M-BRANE Science Fiction, February 2009… (Coming Soon!)

With Arkham Tales, Atomjack, and Necrography just around the corner, I would have to say that this will probably be my last story acceptance for the year 2008.  I’ll have about 30 stories coming out over the next 12 months to some very fine and familiar publications. However, there’s a new magazine that will be available in print and PDF format come February.  It’s a monthly.  The pay isn’t big, but with subscriptions and good authors that could change.  A very likable venue, too.   Simple looking.  It’s called M-BRANE SF.  It looks very promising, and Christopher Fletcher is an extremely nice editor.  He also does reviews and SF analysis, too.

FRESH BLOOD, my collection from Sam’s Dot Publishing, has currently surpassed the 60,000+ word mark (making it novel-length).  Also, writers have been emailing me in regards to my hiatus rumors.  Other than Sam’s Dot… YES, where smaller genre publications are concerned, 350 publishing credits will mark a form of retirement for me, and 2009 will not only be a year off… but a year of book promotions, outlining projects, direction, new ideas, and most important, change…
