DASH Literary Journal #16 – California State University (Fullerton – Futurist Fiction)

I’ve currently got a work of futurist fiction (spec-fic with a steampunk aesthetic tossed in for good measure), appearing in the current edition of DASH Literary Journal. No. #16, 2023. This is the official literary magazine of California State University. Out of Fullerton’s Comparative English Studies Department for Language and Linguistics. I actually studied linguistics back in the 1990s but ended up graduating in journalism and the science of publishing. I used to submit to a handful of literary magazines when I was first starting out in the fiction field. DASH No. #16 features poetry AND fiction, and the short stories in Volume #16 come from the likes of: J.M. Williams, Daniel Webre, Robert S. Gordon, Myself, Mark Silcox, Jared Livingston, James Fowler, and there is a TON of non-fiction. It’s very well put together. I will say that. Links, pics below with website info.

Withersin Magazine, Spring 2010… (Reminder Post!)

This is a reminder post for what is clearly one of the best designed Horror Digests on the market.  I believe it’s available in a few bookstores in the lit. journal section, so there’s distribution to my knowledge.  It might be available at The Horror Mall, too.  Or you can just order direct from their homepage.  But at close to 300 pages, you get not one, not two, but THREE ISSUES in ONE! I have a piece in the most recently released edition: Withersin – Arsenic.  It’s a bit on the pricey side, but well worth it.  If you’re a fan of horror, you’re missing out.  Their interviews, reviews, and non-fiction articles get five stars automatically.  Their artwork is award-winning.  Get your copy today.

And remember, each thick-filled issue is actually THREE issues in one!

The Random Eye, Volume #2; 2010… (coming soon!)

For the second year in a row, I’ll be appearing in the annual eZine, The Random Eye. The Random Eye is about parallel universes, alternate history, alternative fiction, and stories which break the boundaries of communication.  Edited by Melissa Jones, the Random Eye is also The Random Radio.  My second acceptance is coming in early 2010, Volume #2.  It can best be described as a weird tale with a dash of steampunk, a dash of the historical, part fairy tale and part science fiction.  Oh yeah, and the 2010 theme is… TEA!

By the way, they’re still actively seeking fiction until January 2010.

Sam’s Dot Publishing: Cover of Darkness 2010…

I’ll have a new, almost-novelette length zombie thriller appearing in a future edition of Sam’s Dot Publishing’s Cover of Darkness.  An “Annual Magazine-Anthology”, they’re mostly known for their tales of horror and dark speculative fiction.   Sam’s Dot will also be releasing my collection FRESH BLOOD, many future issues of Aoife’s Kiss with stories of mine in it, and lots of other great publications between now and 2010.   So stay tuned.

The Random Eye, January 2009… (appearances)

And here’s a quick appearance from over two months ago to THE RANDOM EYE: An Ezine Dedicated to Alternatives.  You can find a lot of cool stuff here (from alternate history to parallel universes). SFWA member Rick Novy is also in this issue, and I believe we’ll be appearing in some other stuff together later in the year.  Great writer, and an even greater fella to chat with.  In the meantime, be sure to read the premiere edition; it’s only published once per year.

The Random Eye, An Ezine Dedicated to Alternatives…

I’ll have a story appearing soon in a new and interesting ezine called THE RANDOM EYE.  Published Annually, they seem to accept work which is dark and speculative, but borders on the alternative, parallel (like universes), and the overall bizarre.  More than just “weird fiction”.  Be sure to check them out.

THE RANDOM EYE

An E-Anthology Dedicated to Alternatives

From their homepage: The Random Eye is a yearly anthology of horror and speculative fiction that focuses on the possibilities of parallel universes. Have you ever wondered what would happen if Rob Zombie became president, or if the Titanic was used for space travel, or if television was invented for communicating with the dead rather than entertainment? The Random Eye takes a simple theme for each anthology and encourages authors to imagine an existence far removed from our own, where a myriad alternate universes reside and where these strange possibilities exist.
